CALL FOR PHOTO SUBMISSIONS: Challenging Representations of Queerness in Academia

Hi everyone!

I’m currently working on my senior thesis, a critique of queer theory and queer studies that focuses on the ways in which these disciplines presume a singular queer person/experience, which ultimately centers white gay men and subsequently erases people of color, trans* men and trans* women, non-binary folks, and more.

Part of this includes a photographic component, which will simply be a collection of photographs submitted to the tumblr, Queer Academia; the goal of this will be to offer a visual challenge to the limited representations of queerness that exist in academia. I’m hoping to get lots of submissions, so I would really appreciate it if you could help me out by submitting your own photograph and/or sharing this post!
