Re: curls + knots. I don't brush my hair at all when I'm letting it go curly (i.e. when I air dry it/am not planning to flatiron it). I comb my hair when I'm in the shower and have just applied conditioner. The conditioner helps to minimize fuss/breakage/pulling. I don't towel dry my hair, either. Towels are too rough on curls. I use an old T-shirt to soak up the moisture without breaking the hair/adding frizz. Apply some Argan oil, scrunch it a bit, and off you go. No brushing needed.

hi wow thank you all so much!! i’m already doing the wide tooth comb with conditioner but i think i really need to step it up in terms of how much conditioner i use, how often i do it, and what i do in between washes. i really appreciate all the advice :)
if you have curly hair how do you deal with knots without brushing out your curls? i am having a big problem here and dont know what to do !! (?)
